Carleigh Aikins

Carleigh Aikins is a Canadian artist whose distinct vocals have been heard on some of the world’s biggest stages shared with countless celebrated artists.

After decades touring and performing, she recently was dubbed on-air by Tom Power as a “ CBC q All-Star, and the artist we think you’ve heard the most” on the show. But folks may just be discovering her as an emerging solo artist. JUNK JEWELRY (her debut solo album) is an eclectic showcase of Aikins’ thoughtful lyricism and powerful, dynamic vocal ability. It was produced with Marcus Paquin along with collaborators Don Kerr, Brad Barr (The Barr Brothers) and members of Zeus and Patrick Watson with support from Canada Council for the Arts.

Prior to her record’s release, Aikins appeared as touring band member/session vocalist/ collaborator to a number of Artists including Macy Gray, Bahamas and Jack Johnson, John Oates (Hall & Oates), Patrick Watson, Dan Mangan, La Force, Rich Aucoin, Jeremie Albino, Donovan Woods, Royal Wood, The Head and the Heart, Altameda and The Weather Station (along with many others).

Carleigh has performed on Late Night With Conan O’Brien and The Colbert Report. Her voice is featured on Certified Canadian Gold and JUNO winning recordings, on Grey’s Anatomy, The Ranch and Hockey Night In Canada, and live with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, The KSO and Colorado Symphony at Chautauqua. She has sung on hundreds of stages from Royal Albert Hall to Red Rocks; the Ryman Auditorium to Massey Hall.

She was a member of the Colorado band Paper Bird, releasing their self-titled record produced by John Oates on Nashville’s Thirty Tigers. She has appeared as a member of Dwayne Gretzky, and The 99’s for several years.

Chara Kai-Le
