PAITRA

Paitra is a Toronto-based artist making music that blends '70s pop with modern production. Originally from Timmins, Ontario, Paitra spent over a decade performing in bands before launching her solo project in 2023. Her music introduces a style that feels both familiar and fresh, blending timeless influences (like Fleetwood Mac, ABBA, CSNY) with a modern perspective (like Shania Twain, Wolf Alice).

Her debut EP "A Universal Feeling" was developed in collaboration with producer Tyler Fogerty (Hearty Har, John Fogerty) and guitarist Chris Dixie Darley (Father John Misty), and it showcases a sound that moves effortlessly between vulnerability, confidence, and timeless pop songwriting. There's a song to suit every taste in Paitra's music, so sit back and immerse yourself.

CARRIE MATISSE

Carrie Matisse is the main character in a concept narrative about the end of the world created by Caroline Colantonio. Inspired by literature and the bold artistry of Henri Matisse, the project explores themes of resilience, wonder, and creative courage.

A seasoned performer, Colantonio has appeared on Toronto stages with Mirvish’s Les Misérables and in productions with SOLT, Toronto City Opera, and The Royal Conservatory. Alongside her stage career, she nurtured a quiet passion for writing, first falling in love with poetry during her undergraduate studies in music.

She later earned her MA in Creative Writing, balancing academia with songwriting, leading two indie bands, and penning a pop-opera album that earned her radio play across Canada and a top 100 placement in a CBC Searchlight competition.

Mid-pandemic heartbreak almost pushed Colantonio toward a PhD in English, but a chance encounter with a poetry book at the Toronto Reference Library rekindled her devotion to music. Since then, she has released two songs and music videos, with a third instalment arriving this fall. Through Carrie Matisse, Colantonio tells a story of loss, resilience, and the strange beauty of starting over.
